Congrats Des and Tam!

Yay! Captain D and Tammy tied the knot in Fiji, and it was the most laid back and fun party ever! If only more weddings are like this!

Sydney was kinda cool the day I left, but it was hot hot HOT in Fiji...so we could only swim in the beautiful beautiful pool and drink cocktails to keep cool hahaha. We stayed at Watermark by Wyndham and I loved their pool - it's huge, has great view of the sea, a pool bar AND a gorgeous bartender. We stayed in that pool for HOURS...I wish we could do it again. Westin's family pool? bah, I was out of that in 10 min :P

There were other fun things, like going from resort to resort on the free bula bus, Samson grabbing coconuts off the trees, kickass seafood buffet at Sofitel etc. However, the exchange rate was shit, prices were on par with Oz...so we only had two meals a day (one of which was tragic maggies so we can blow money on one proper meal and 3 cocktails), and this was achieved by lying around and doing nothing all day. God I wish I'd taken a book with me XD

Des and Tam's wedding was beautiful...it was so simple and elegant. We were on the lush lawn, looking out to sea, with palm trees and a capella musicians. Tammy wore a colette dinnigan dress and the bridesmaids carried white parasols :) I was with the boys which I didn't expect at all. I was asked to be the ringbearer, usually the job of children or dogs hahaha, and thought I'd simply get up when I was needed, then sit down again. But no, I was standing behind Des the whole time! So I felt pretty honoured XD...then it started drizzling right towards the end of the ceremony (Des said it means good luck haha), then we all rushed to Westin's spacious lobby for moscato, cake and photos XD

a couple of hours (and more cocktails) later, it was time for reception! it was held in a cosy room near the lobby. We'd brought over our own wines as the same wines are 2-3 x the price here. This meant a bottle of wine each for our small table, and our glasses were always topped up (so really I only had one red and one white XD). Music was whatever was on Des' ipod. I think he chose some older songs (over the last 10 years he's been with Tammy). There was one speech by Des on how he met Tammy (spilling drinks on herself in a bar, of course), and that was it! So simple! and the food was good too!

We were the loudest table, and even wandered around toasting other tables (isn't that the job of the bride and groom?) Anyway, alcohol --> much nakedness (thanks ZT for flashing my undies to the world); all the flowers on our table ended up on our heads, we danced like elaine (and I laughed like The Nanny in my videos...no way...tell me it's NOT TRUE). We even all did the choo-choo train (the non-filthy version) at one stage...and then Des and Samson did a duet of...Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody including headbanging...ROFL...god it was real party!

The next day, Des and Tam left for their honeymoon on Likuliku (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA), and I went on a free cruise worth $140 (WAHAHAHAHAHA), to Tivua aka Mystery island. We had a nice old sailing ship, which i prefer over the modern catamarans if only for the looks. We tried kava on board (looked like muddy water, taste like nothing, no numbing at all!); listened to the crew sing, and they also demonstarted making a bag out of palm frond, and husking a coconut and break it with their bare hand!

I loved snokelling, it was sooo nice. My favourite fish was this transparent/blueish fish with a long snout that's sorta pink at the tip...unreal! and i saw NEMO and his DAD! and the big fish came out of the anemone when I got too close (Samson said the big one's the female and the small one's male, but I've chosen to ignore him haha). Also had freshly caught fish and bbq for lunch. It was really lovely. Wish I could hire the cabin on the island and stay...that would be amazing.

well, anyway, that's kinda Des and Tam's wedding and our time in Fiji in a very small nutshell. It was just an awesome party, everything went smoothly, and I'm very very happy for them! :D
