Visited Cockatoo Island on the very last day of the Biennale, the month long arts fest that sees a tremendous outpouring of creative genius in beautiful Sydney. Cockatoo Island was a prison and a ship building yard, and its many tunnels, silos, rundown buildings and the turbine hall make great places to showcase hundreds of installations from around the world. The queue for the free ferry from Circular Quay was wayyy long and it took almost an hour to get on one...but there's nothing like being under the glorious winter sun :)
Sydney Harbour...after my trip to Hanoi, I'm doubly appreciative of how beautiful Sydney is
we've landed!
they really should rename this place Seagull Island; they were everywhere, nesting in cracks, under stairways, etc. This seagull is just one of a bunch of seagulls nesting in a row of doorways
random shots from the wonderful and very long visit; this is an annual must-do just like Sculptures by the Sea. and I finally made it to the top this time!
love the senselessness and the derelict chic ;)
